June at Bella Viva Orchards: Admiring those Apricots!

We just love June here in the Central Valley. The long, warm days signal the season for Father’s Day, barbecues and yes…Apricots! (You saw that coming, right?) As you probably know, we offer a number of varieties and styles of California Apricots, and they’re all outstanding. While many of them come from trusted partners who are our neighbors, we grow our own California Tangy Apricots. And right now, we’re in the throes of our Apricot harvest! Mother Nature is giving those trees one more dose of sunshine and the trees are bending from the weight of the heavy, ripe and sweet fruit. Early in

Nuts: No Fuss, What Muss?!

Father’s Day is right around the corner. So once you’ve got Dad situated in that recliner with his favorite sports on TV and that remote control all to himself, how can you make his day even better? You could mow the lawn. You could wash his car. You could fire up the grill and make a batch of this month’s recipe for Apricot-glazed Pork Chops with Chopped Oven-Roasted Almonds or you could really show him you care by gifting him with Nuts from Bella Viva Orchards. Now, that’s doing it right, friends! Nuts. The perfect answer to a low-maintenance, healthier full-on noshing session. We’ve

Does it make you feel jubilant? Good! We hope so. They’re incredible. They’re organic. They smell heavenly in our drying yard. And they’re ready for you to enjoy right this moment. Now, that’s what it’s all about!

California Water Outlook 2018

Heat Waves and Cold Spells: We are concerned California might be approaching another dry season despite experiencing a hint of healthy, wet weather over the past three months. Although spring just arrived, the weather can’t seem to make up its mind as to which season it is. In the first week of February, many cities hit record high temperatures. The small Riverside County town of Thermal even reached 93 degrees! However, by the third week of the month, drastic below-freezing temperatures started making an appearance at night. According to Bella Viva Orchards’ owner, Victor Martino, this recent freeze is the worst he has ever

Water Outlook – January 2016

Water Outlook for California 2016: We hope you all enjoyed the holidays, at Bella Viva we are already preparing for our next growing season. The drought made last year extremely challenging for us. It led to the loss of trees and lower crop yields for the ones that survived. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and for the encouraging emails that we received throughout the year. Despite the hardships felt by farmers in recent years, we are hopeful for an improvement in the drought situation thanks to early snow storms in the Sierra Nevada and the El Niño weather
